In partnership with True Health, Lexington Medical quickly pivoted and allocated operational resources to help respond to the COVID-19 health crisis. In less than a week's time, the team launched the True Mask program - designing, manufacturing, and donating novel personal protective equipment for healthcare providers and essential workers on the front lines.
The novel design of the True Mask includes a full face mask adapted from a snorkel, medical-grade filter, and a custom coupler.
Lexington Medical is assisting in the manufacturing, distribution, and donation of several hundreds of masks to help resource-constrained hospitals and clinics across Massachusetts and beyond.
One of the recipients was a major academic medical center in Boston where over 300 out of the organization’s 1500 healthcare workers were infected with COVID.
The company is honored to support this important program and will continue to support True Health to help provide masks for the hospitals and healthcare heroes in need.
Disclaimer: True Health makes no claims to respiratory efficacy. The FDA has encouraged vendors of improvised protective equipment in the COVID19 pandemic, similar to True Mask, to distribute and market it as a Class I face shield or a “face mask” (Sec V. C. of the Enforcement Policy for Face Masks and Respirators During the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Public Health Emergency IIE Guidance Document) or "surgical mask" (see Sec V.D. Enforcement Policy for Face Masks and Respirators During the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Public Health Emergency IIE Guidance). True Health is seeking avenues to complete an EUA through the FDA as a Respirator, however any use of the device as such at this time is considered "off-label."
